1. San Newcomer, in training

   I attempted to repair my Windows XP with the Recovery console, but it comes up it only reads C:\> without giving me a list of OS.
   
   Why is that? What does it mean?

   Here is Microsoft's help on the topic. Why do you want to use recovery console? You probably don't want to run that without knowing specifically what you are trying to do.
