  1. Hi I have just finished putting together a new computer first time, everything works fine boots up no problems at all,the only thing I don't understand is there is a red light next to the reset button that is a light that never comes on is it meant to its connected next to the reset and power cable on the motherboard.regards Martin

It might be the hard drive (HDD) led activity light. Most motherboards have HDD led header pins so is there a HDD led cable from the front panel of your case that isn't connected?

Yes there is a hdd cable connected to the exact spot in the motherboard manual next to the power and reset lead they work fine. I suppose really it wont matter as long as everything is working fine.I have since got it working I put the lead on the same pins the other way round and the red light is on and blinking.regards Martin.
