I'm at my wit's end here. I'm a 19 year old girl who moved out of state to be on her own, with both my parents being programmers and yet I haven't retained much computer knowledge. I got the google redirect virus maybe 2 weeks ago, but thought it was some firefox toolbar nonsense, so I ignored it and eventually got a nasty virus that I've taken care of, but I can't seem to rid my comp of the original redirection. I've called my dad several times and used AVG, followed a guide which had me use MBAM, iexplore, TDSSkiller, and Rkill, (which got rid of the scareware but not the redirection) then used hijackthis and fix scanned everything we deemed unnecessary, rebooted, etc. It seemed to work. Because it's a several years-old Dell, I figured now was as good a time as ever to clean it, so I spent the last 2 hours deleting everything I don't use anymore. I thought the virus was gone during that time, but then I was googling and got redirected yet again. I've read through these forums a bit and it seems to me that I can only fix this by giving somebody MY logs and figuring it out from there. Pleaaase help, I'm 1000 miles from home and I'd really like my computer to stop failing. (My video card just died too :/) TL;DR: I used AVG, Malwarebytes' anti-malware, TDSSkiller, rkill, and hijackthis and NOTHING HAS WORKED.
