Im using a Dell Insprion 700m Windows Xp Home and I want to reformat it. The problem is my dvd-rom dont read any cd-r but it reads dvd-r. So I cant boot with the cd so im thinking about burning the window xp cd to a dvd and try to boot with the dvd. Will this work? Are there other ways to reformat without having to use the cd-rom?

Thank You

yeah you could burn it too a dvd r, im not one here to support buring micro$0ft products either btw. Also could make it into an iso file then rewrite, just make sure you're not doing it for someone else. we're not really able to support that here.

k the dvd works but after pressing the any key and the setup done loading files the laptop just shuts off. Any idea whats the problem is?

Hmm, maybe Memtest

But the copied Disc, was that a clone? (not exactly copy)

I wasn't aware that the MS disc was cd-r, I suppose it had to be one of the two.
A clone to cd+r should work (actually even on to a DVD should work)

You really need another drive, instead of all this mucking around.

k it was overheating so it shutdown. I reformat it and installed in windows xp home but now i dont the wireless  . Is there somewhere I can download it and install it back?
