Hi!

I just reformated my HD and while the comp was reformating, a dozen of .dll/.exe./.sys/.drv wouldn't copy. So they asked if I wanted to skip them, (which I did). After the HD was reformated, it came to the blue installation screen. Everything went well (I plugged in my cd key, the time, etc..) but after a few minutes, just before the end of the installation, my computer froze on the famous blue screen ("critical error blahblah, if this is the first time reboot your pc blah, etc" :bounce: ). So im thinking maby its a virus or somthing that is causing all this cr*p, so I was wondering how do I get out of this if I can't even install xp. :dead:

thanks

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Check your Windows cd for scratches, finger marks etc.

Maybe try using a different cd drive as well. Reformat the hard drive and start again. Don`t skip any files this time.
