    If I reformat my laptop is there anyway to save my documents, pictures, and/or music?

    you have to transport them onto a separate storage device like another hard drive, or a very big USB flash drive.

    or burn everything to a disc, and then upload everything afterward. that's the only way to save things from a reformat.

    reformatting ERASES everything on the drive. Transfer any important data to another device before formatting.
