This may be connected with the problem I was trying to solve at your site, which is when I try to open certain applications I get the handle is invalid message. About:Blank is sometimes caused by a virulent spyware that has been around a long time. Sometimes adaware or spybot will remove it. Other times, it is just a site error, or an error in setup of microsoft internet explorer which you can edit in Internet Options in the Control Panel.
