  1. Just had the weirdest thing happen, after using Registry Mechanic and cleaning all bad entries, I logged off. When I logged back in, a warning appeared telling me my Windows XP was not authenic and I may have a ****** copy?! This is not the case it came preinstalled on my system when I bought it.

I rolled back to the previous system restore point and touch wood, everything seems to be back to normal.

    Anyone have any explanations?

    Nez.

You should never allow any registry cleaner to fix all entries, if you don`t know what they are. As you`ve just found out, it can cause serious problems.

Personally I like to use the Ccleaner programme from HERE. I regularly use the scan for issues feature and have never had any problems.

    Regards Howard :)
