Reinstalling windows on a dell

hello.. i was givin a dell optiplex gx240 that has windows xp home on it but when i turn it on it wants me to register windows now my problim is i dont have the windows xp home os disk so im wanting to wipe the hard drive clean and after christmas install a new copy of windows xp.. im thinking im getting windows xp home for chrismas...lol...i hope..so how would i wipe out every thing that is on this pc so i can start over when i do recieve the new os.. this pc has a 1.70g prosseser and 512mb ram im thinking it would make a good pc for the kids to use for the internet only and maybe update sooner or later if they wanted to play games ...thanks for any advice
