Removable storage problems

Hello Im having trouble trying to upgrade from XP home to XP media center. The Install went ok but there are some random bugs im trying to fix. One of these occurs when im using memory sticks (i.e Removable Storage). I can plug in a memory stick and the system recognizes it in the task bar but i cant see it in My Computer. I've viewed several previous posts regarding this issuse and i've tried assigning the memory stick a drive number but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

What are you plugging the Memory Sticks into specifically, a USB slot or a Card Reader?

It's possible your new install doesn't have the USB (or card reader) drivers loaded yet. Try Right click 'My Computer'->Properties->Hardware->Manager.

Look for any red X's or yellow checkmarks next to certain devices.
