removing Windows vista boot manager

i had a dual boot with vista and xp ended up keeping vista but now when it starts it goes in to boot manager but it does not even have a loading time like it would have 30 sec. since it does not have a waiting period i have to hit enter or space bar to get it to load
does any1 know how to take it off?
