restart and error messages

i have been having problems with my pc shutting down when i am working on it, all it does is shut down and restarts then displays one of the two following error messages:

event id 7000
the parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following eror:
the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.


OR
event id 1003
error code 100000d1,parameter1 00000714,parameter2 00000002,parameter3 00000000,parameter4 f6df68bf.


Its really starting to bug me so any help would be appreciated.

Do you use the parallel port, which is usually only used with a printer using a parallel port cable?

In any case, I would enter the BIOS and disable the parallel port to find out if doing that solves the problem.

the printer i use is usb and i have nothing running from the parralel port i will give disableing it a try
