Following is my configuration
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
ASUS K8V-VM Motherboard
512 DDR RAM Transcend
GeFORCE 7100 GS Graphics Card.
Two fans one on processor and one for the cabinet.

Tried the following stuff.

Changed the driver from 78x to 84.56.
Even performed all the tweaks via NVTray and NVTweak.

Still no luck. Even tried playing the game with the cabinet open, still the same restarting problem. The game start's and when i am through it for a couple of minute's it suddenly hangs and PC restarts.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

What should i look out for while selecting a PSU.

Current SPec.

VOLTAGE
115V~
230V~

Current:
10A
6A

Freq
60Hz-50Hz

Total Output : 400W

Do u think i need a extra fan to care of the heating..

Temp:GPU 41 Celcius
Aux 42 C
CPU 40 C
MotherBoard 50 C

Your graphic card is not a good graphic card i must say, second, if 6A and 10A is in the +12V rails (row), that's also a bad PSU.

So conclusion is first try to get good PSU, then update driver of VGA card.
If still no luck i bet 'better' graphic card will be a solution;)

However, usually PC restart due to error or crash. If this so; driver error, software incompatiblilty, or BSOD is the root of the problem.
try to find out more whether it's a 'hardware' issue or a 'software' issue.

Also sounds like overheating. Check your temps WHILE into the game for a few minutes (obviously just wait a few minutes and not until your pc restarts). If you can't do that then direct a HUGE fan towards your PC when it's running with its side panel off. Then game. IF your PC is fine then it was overheating.

Other than that, PSU sounds really bad too.

Attached is how my PC looks after I added a new Fan to my Box.

The voltage setting's I gave earlier look to be a bit misleading.

I was able to play Hitman Contract's ok today after I put in the extra Fan.

But DOOM3 still won't work...atleast it reached to a point further after starting if I compare it with my previous instances.

Will try testing it with a better PSU

Could be because your video card is overheating have you tried to put a fan right next to your video card and then try playing it?
