I have tried to load rome total war, but every time I try to start it up, a message comes up saying I don't have directx 9, but I have downloaded it multiple times....any suggestions?

Try to delete directx 9 by going to control panel and then going to add and remove programs and then reinstall it, REBOOT right after install

You need to install your video driver.

Who manufactures you graphics card? Download the latest drivers from either

www.nVIDIA.com or www.ATi.com

If those drivers are deemed unstable try drivers from www.omegadrivers.net

well ive downloaded rome total war then my system crash so i rebooted my computer so i had to install it again but it starts to download and gets like 10% in then says new directx 9.0c data error cyclic rundancy check but ive download directx like 1000 times for real its starting to make me real mad im at the point im going to kill my computer im runing windows xp and got all and more of the reqiremts so help plz fast and it gets to this and stops rome-total war/directx/managed/dx.cad and stops and the ni get that error up top

i dont have direct x on my pc but when i try and download direct x it says that i have an updated version. but when i install games it says i dont have direct x. what do i do?
