Router problems

I have a network of 2 computers and a router . One computer connected to the router works fine - when I connect the second computer to the router everything stops working.Also my second computer can ping my other computer but cannot ping the router !!!!

If you state the model of Router, the models of NICs and the OSes you're running, we might be able to help you.

I can tell you that in my experience, if you add a nic to a network and it brings the network down, first thing to try is updating the NIC drivers and the firmware of the router.

also the router may be faulty. but try updating firmware/drivers first
