runescape on an old mac

my dad hooked up an ethernet cable to my old mac and it works fine
for some reason runescape will not work on it
i have tried all of the different java options and none will work
has anyone found something to fix this or any downloads?

dont run any background programs, like ICQ which uses bandwidth n ram.
