  1. Back in 2004, Garry Newman crafted a specialized “mod” for Half Life 2, and aptly named it, Garry's Mod. The finished product eventually morphed into a Source Engine-based standalone title and made its way to Steam in 2006. Now, 10...

One of my co-workers is completely addicted to this game... I'm avoiding it, I have enough time suckers in my life, I'd end up with zero sleep if I jumped in on Rust.

The thing I've noticed watching him play, though, is that the game encourages a sense of cooperation and community more than almost any game I've seen recently. Survivors end up cautiously discovering each other, potentially banding together with those that don't just kill them on sight, and working together to maintain mutual protection and resource accumulation. It's really quite an interesting process... Ah man, all this talking about it and now I want to play it even more! Doh! Must... Resist...

^ no. Also you can build bases. DayZ SE isn't all that great. One thing that annoys me is the amount of cheaters and exploiters which is a nightmare to deal with when running your own server.

Sorry but since when do we take guest comments as something to debate on?? For a reason they are posting as guests... nonsense all the way!

Mmm will take a look into it, sounds fun

  9. It was originally designed as a DayZ clone according to the dev, but since has morphed into much more.
Specifically, the building aspect is the biggest draw to choose Rust over DayZ, not to mention DayZ has been out as a mod for a while and rust is completely new.

There are actually still zombies in Rust, but they are slated to be removed in an upcoming patch.

What I meant to say was that DayZ was the first one to come up this theme/idea.
    I am okay with -/+

Looks more like a DayZ / Minecraft crossover, haven't played it yet myself but a few mates are very much enjoying it and say that it's very stable for an alpha release.
