Samsung has announced that its Gear S smartwatch, which lets you check emails, receive notifications, and make calls even without a smartphone companion, will hit the US market next week.

Unveiled back in August, the SIM-enabled wearable device runs a 1GHz dual-core processor and features a 2-inch, 360-by-480 curved Super AMOLED display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and 300mAh battery. It also supports 2G, 3G, and Bluetooth 4.1, as well as 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.

Available in black or white, the Gear S will be rolling out to all major US carriers, with Sprint and AT&T releasing it on November 7, and T-Mobile releasing it a couple of days later. There is no word yet on when Verizon will begin offering the smartwatch.

As for pricing, T-Mobile will be offering the device for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $14.58, or a total retail cost of $349.92. Also, for $5 a month, you’ll get unlimited talk, text and 500 MB of 4G LTE data on the watch.

On the other hand, AT&T will be offering the Gear S for $199.99 with a two-year contract, while Sprint will be selling the smartwatch for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $16. Both companies will charge $10 a month for users adding it to their respective Mobile Share or Family Share plans, although Sprint will wave the charge for those whose plans have at least 20 GB of data.

Verizon hasn't revealed much, except that it will be selling the device for $349.99 on contract.

The Gear S, which runs Samsung's in-house Tizen mobile operating system, also features a heart rate monitor, claims about two days of battery life, and is IP67 water and dust resistant.
