Sata Complications

  1. Now i have read in other posts and from my research have concluded that my motherboard (asus p4p800s-x) when connected to a sata hard drive causes many faults experienced by many users. For example a powering down sound that causes the hard drive to crash, slow transfer rates, etc. I have tried another sata hard drive myself and still the same problems. Ive attempted upgrading my bios, to my sata drivers and still nothing. Now i want to fix this problem without buying a completely new motherboard, so i was wondering if i used a pci sata controller, that would i run into the same problems and waste my money. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
