SATA & IDE combo issue

I've just built a new system for my sister after her old system bit the dust. It's an Intel board and I've installed XP on her SATA drive using a slipstreamed setup disc. The problem I'm having is trying to hook up her old IDE hard drive so that I can access her old files and transfer them onto the SATA hard drive. The IDE drive shows up in the bios, and the bios is set up to correctly boot from the SATA, which works fine, but when Windows boots up it doesn't see the other hard drive.
I'll appreciate any ideas!! :)

hi cmykundone

I think you might have to switch the jumper on the IDE drive into a slave position. It's probably still in the master slot. There should be a sticker on the hard disk showing you the two positions for jumpers to be in.

Yes, double check the jumpers, but I doubt it needs to be slave unless you put it on the same channel as the CD/DVD drive.

Does the drive show up in Disk Management.
