Is this a brand new build or is this a new SATA hard drive on an existing system? What is the hard drive configuration of this PC?

You might have to install motherboard drivers again. It depends on your setup and what drive has the OS.

    sata drivers must be installed.

Also some mobos have difficulties with mixed systems (ide/sata). I suggest using one type or the other. This is common in older boards.
