SATA problem

i recently tried a re-install and got this problem

im using a Maxtor diamondmax 10 160GB HDD and have the correct silicone image drivers for it.

when installing i did the usual of installing the drives however when the install is about to begin i get a msg "no HDD was detected"

this is strange cos in the hardware tests the HDD is detected and is fine.

anyone got any ides what it could be??

Have you pressed F6 at the start when Windows asks if you need to install HDD drivers.

yes i know how to install the sata drivers no problem, iv done it many times before.

it seams to be installing the drivers fine but not recognising the drive when coming to installation.

its wierd.

Might want to go to Maxtors website and get the diagnostic software and check to make the drive is running like it is supposed to.
