  1. Ok,i've got a Dell M991 monitor. Whenever i run Call of duty 4 it flickers like a mutha... In the setup screen and the first minute or so ingame. I suspect it has to be a graphic conflict as the screen is old and my Graphic card is a Gainward ATI radeon HD 4850. I've had conflicts with other games as well. My daughter just bought The Sims 3 and after a while ingame or in the setup screen the frames freezes up the screen, and i have to restart the computer manually. I've tested the ram chips and they check out ok. Like i said...could it be a conflict between the Graphic card and the monitor?

You may have to lower the refresh rates from the video card to the monitor

I'm using vista so the 3D Refresh Rate Override is not supported. Going to display properties and changing the refresh rate from 70 to 60 hz. In any case...i'm buying a new monitor:)

The old monitor is an LCD flat screen or a CRT big heavy monitor?

Try increasing the refresh rate to 75Hz
