Is there a way to boot windows with the minimum processes to run an online game like Battlefield 2? I have an ATI Video card installed so I am sure those processes need to be running. Is there an easy way to do this?

msconfig will do, or if you want some program that will do it for you check out startup editors..

    This works great!

I am going to do this for all gaming...

    1. Open msconfig
    2. Click Selective Startup.
    3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check boxes: •
    • Process SYSTEM.INI File
    • Process WIN.INI File
    • Load Startup Items

    4. On the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All (I left all services running that had to do with my video card and left my firewall active).
    5. Restart.

Games run super smooth! Highly recommended
