Serial ATA hard drive

Is it possible for me to troubleshoot a serial hard drive on my parallel computer? I was going to slave it to another computer.

NO. You cannot run a SATA drive on PATA connections. Either hook it to a SATA port and install the drivers or use it as an external drive with a USB to SATA connector/case.
