Setting default language?

  1. I live in Japan, however I have an English OS Winxp. The default language is English. My problem occurs with Microsoft updates and a random selection of other related sites, eg. MS Messenger.

MS Updates as an example. I go to the updates page but it automatically rediects me to the Japanese page. Reading it is beyond me so I have no idea which patches I'm downloading.

Its really annoying. Can anyone please tell me how to perhaps change my default country? or any other possible solution?

    cheers

In Start/Settings/Control Panel/Regional Options you can change that (at least in Win2000, I guess the same for WinXP)

The languages you get in websites depend on the Internet Options->General->Languages list. Just remove Japanese and leave only English.
