sharing cable internet connection wirelessly

My roommate has a Motorola 5100 cable modem that is not wireless. I would like to share the connection. Can someone tell me what kind of wireless items i need to buy in order to connect a computer in another room to that cable modem? I heard that I can do it but i need two wireless portals. If someone could make some reccomendations as to what i should buy i would be extremely greatful.

You need a wireless broadband router. And a wireless adapter in the computer in question of course.

So if i got two of these and attached one to the modem and one to the second computer I should be good to go? If you have a brand reccomendation I am all eyes. I just want something cheap that will do the job

No, you need only one wireless router. If your computer doesn't have wireless then you need to get a wireless adapter for that.
