Short DST failure

HI techspot
I purchased a new Seagate HDD last week after an imminent failure of the previous one, installed an OS 10 pro but today my PC just won't boot up.
Run diagnostics, Memory is fine, Smart check is passed but Short DST FAILED... am waiting for the long DST to complete.
Please help, what do I do about this.
Any help will be much appreciated people

"Is there a way to correct this??" Pretty much a 'no'.

You can download fresh copy of Seagate hdd utility SeaTools and run tests.
http://www.seagate.com/support/warranty-and-replacements/

In the unlikely event that HDD is not failing, you can re-partition and reformat and try a new clean install again.

If a hopeless failure, some vendors (like NewEgg, etc) will get you a new drive asap. RMA through Seagate takes longer in my experience.
