It's only started happening over last week or so, but whenever i start playing a game, the computer will shut down, not restart, as though power has been shut off. I can stay on the net, or doing regular pc stuff, including long downloads, with no probs, but put a game on and the pc will last from 5 seconds to 30 minutes before shutting down, problem seems to be getting worse. I wonder if it could be the graphics card? I have a Radeon 9800 pro 128mb, which seems quite warm, though its fan is running. Other than that no recent changes except a new hard drive about a month ago. BIOS says the MB temp 25'C/77'F CPU temp 53'C/127'F, QFan Control Enabled Fan Speed Ratio (10/15), Speed Up/Down response time 4sec/8sec.

It does sound like your graphics card is overheating for whatever reason.

Try a different card and hopefully that will cure the problem.
