Shuttle AB45 motherboard, new ram problem

Hey guys (first post here, so be gentle :D )

I have quite an old pc (Intel P4 2.4Ghz) with a Shuttle AB45 motherboard that has been working fine with 512 Mb Ram (DDR266 PC 2100). Recently, having purchased a laptop for university, I bought 2x 1gig modules to upgrade my desktop (from ebay member fastmemoryman, titanium seller) that, on paper, seem to be 100% compatible. Unfortunately, whatever combination of modules I use, whenever there is one of the new modules in, the computer does not even get past the POST, and does not beep, there is no screen activity, i have no idea what to do.(Also, the "hard drive in use" light is always on)
I have spoken to other people who have bought this memory, and they all said it works fine, so i guess the memory could be fine.

Do you think the memory is crap, or need to upgrade bios, or something else i havent thought of?
Sorry for my RAMbling (!), just helping you get an idea of my problem.
Thank in advance for any help/advice.

Alex

Not a chance we're all meanies  here :haha:

Yes do try to find fresh bios...what is the new ram, make model stats?
You could try cearing the cmos(bios) too.
You might've gotten mismatched or just plain bad ram, will titanium replace it?
G'Luck
