Hi i have apci sil3112 sata raid card. ''if i install win xp sp2 it is fine until i try to update windows. pc blue screens an restarts.

Try the updates one-by-one and see which one breaks it.

And yeah, Silicon Image is crap

Why do you think your SIL3112 is to blame for your SP2 install crashes?

Keep in mind there's tons of known issues with installing SP2 over existing applications, drivers and updates and many of them do result in a screen... of the blue type.
