Silent Circle, makers of the security-minded Blackphone, has come to Mobile World Congress with a pair of new mobile devices and an update to PrivatOS.

The Blackphone 2 consists of a 5.5-inch, 1080p display that’s powered by an octa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot and a larger battery. Pricing will likely be around the same as the current Blackphone, $629.

The other device, known as Blackphone+, is a tablet that’ll feature a 7-inch display and a Qualcomm processor. It’s set to arrive during the second half of this year. No word yet on how much it might cost, however.

The bigger takeaway here is the enterprise focus. Silent Circle noted that of the $750 million it has sold in services and devices thus far, about three quarters were to business users. Given those stats, the company is now combining its devices, software and services into what it calls its Enterprise Privacy Platform.

Silent Circle also introduced the first major update to its Android-based operating system. PrivatOS 1.1 introduces Spaces, an OS-level virtualization and management solution that enables devices to be used for both personal and professional purposes. It essentially groups apps into different categories that are separate from each other and includes the company’s suite of core applications – Silent Phone, Silent Text and Silent Contacts.

There’s also Silent Meeting, described as secure conference calling for multiple participants. E-mail isn’t being left out of the mix, either, as the company has a solution for that in the works.
