I think my problem is the ancient firmware (circa '06) and it can't handle the 1.5TB drives I'm attempting to setup. I've read where you need to get the latest firmware (any idea of the URL for this?) and then rig a self-boot USB thumb drive or Self-boot CdRom with FreeDos/equiv. to do the upgrades.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Note: I've got three of these 3114's - one of them (evidently newer) works fine with large drives. The other two have older firmware. My goal is to bring up FreeNAS and configure the RAID config. from there. It was working fine with a Rosewill 2-port SATA/1-port PATA card. Newer, natch.
