Sims on laptop problem

    I m having a really annoying time with the Sims,
    I have tried Deluxe and lving it up also a couple of expansion packs,

    I keep getting returned to the desktop.
    I (my daughter) are in the middle of playing or sometimes loading and suddenly we get back to the desktop.
    We are using a Dell inspiron 2650 Laptop Nvidia 2964 driver just put in that has helped but gameplay is bad.

    Any help appreciated

    Sorry for such a similar post as before.

    As per the replies I wiped everything using Reg cleaner and started from new.

    i had this issue with the sims alone - after about 2 horus of player - crash to desktop, but i also had an illegal copy. retail did not have this problem.

    get any updates for the game?

    I have downloaded a patch and updated the video drivers and the problem is a lot better.
    Its odd that a patch for sims deluxe is made but there is no info as to what it does.
