Sims2 installation problems

I have sims 2 dvd edition, and cd edition expansion packs. When I tried to install the expansion packs. At the end it asks me to put sims 2 dvd back in for updates. Then it say it cant install.

I don't know if this will help but have you installed all Sims 2 game patches?
