Apple has confirmed what most in the industry have suspected for weeks. The Cupertino-based company is hosting a press event on September 9 where it’s pretty much a given that we’ll see the unveiling of the next generation iPhone.

Invites that read “Hey Siri, give us a hint.” were dispatched to select journalists on Thursday. Plugging that phrase into Siri on an iDevice provides a clever little Easter egg as the personal assistant has plenty (or really, nothing at all) to say about the event.

Some of Siri’s responses include suggesting you’re the type of kid that snuck downstairs to open presents a day early or that it can only give you a hint of lime. Regardless of the quip, Siri concludes that you’ll have to wait until September 9 for the big announcement.

The media event will kick off at 10am at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. What’s on the agenda, you ask?

Although nothing has been confirmed, I’d bet the house that we’ll see the arrival of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The new smartphones are expected to be powered by a faster A9 processor alongside 2GB of RAM. Rumors also indicate we’ll see a 12-megapixel rear camera to replace the existing 8-megapixel unit and well as Force Touch integration, the pressure-sensing technology used on the Apple Watch.

Some also expect Apple to announce refreshed versions of its iPad. The company’s tablets are typically reserved for their own event later in the year but with slowing sales, it may make sense to go ahead and get them out sooner rather than later.

Be sure to check out our full rundown of what’s expected from Apple come September 9.
