Slash screen pops up, but doesn't run

A little problem I have with my DVD drive... I did a system restore and as a restult I can no longer run video games.
I get the splash screen but it never runs the program. I can watch dvd movies though for some reason. I reinstalled the dvd drivers but still no solution. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them, thanks.

Where your games installed on the system when you created the restore point/backup?

Look in control panel add remove programs and see if you games are loaded in there? Take note and look at the size of the files.

You can also check the crogram files and look for the folder for the games and see if the files are there.
If the folder is there and nothing else then you will have to reload the game.

You might have to reload the games.
