Slow download

By Alex.A

  1. I'm downloading slower lately on utorrent and i don't know why. Much slower. I think a program or a bad setting is closing my ports or something. I'm not sure what to do but I'm sure that my bandwidth can do better. Any help will be appreciated.

What kind of connection do you have Alex? Dial-up will always give different download speeds. Cable or DSL are much faster using broadband connection, but even the can slow down at peak times of use.

See if the slowdowns are occurring at certain times of the day. If so, avoid those times.

No, I have cable. Download works fine, only on P2P programs like utorrent the download speed slowed down. I think some of my ports are closed or something.
Also utorrent warns me that i don't have proper incoming connections. What should I do?

Have you forwarded the proper ports on your router?

Also, some ISPs are cracking down on torrent traffic and throttling it.
