Slow performance of Windws XP computer after registering on windows 2000

Hello,

I hope somebody will answer to me. I googled a lot on this issue but could not find something to get rid of this issue.

We have Windows 2000 Server/DNS/ISA 2000/Exchange 2000 on one machine. We have planned to have Windows 2003 Server soon. We have installed Windows XP on clients and registered them on Windows 2000 domain.

Two problems we are getting on various workstations:

1. Windows XP computers taking much time during logon process. Takes about a minute during "Applying computer settings....".

2. When logged in, performance of windows xp client is very slow. Takes lot of time in opening ms office applications, takes time in opening My computer etc.

We have configured forwarders on our DNS. Previously we were not able to resolve external domains through nslookup but now we are able to resolve external domains through nslookup.

Any guidance to address this issue would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
