Hi, just a quick question regarding the tool "SmitFraudFix".

Does anyone know if this program is

    a) safe to download and run (generally free of harmfull viruses and such)
    b) effective (will it do the job of getting rid of a virus I have?)

The virus I have is "js/downloader.agent".

Thanks for any information anyone can give me.

SmitFraudFix should work out just fine...if it were me i'd use this instead however.

Thank you. I will have a look over your alternative and use whichever seems most suitable. Most likely the one you have advised as the SmitFraudFix one was just something I found through google.

Thanks again for taking the time to offer your advise.

""js/downloader.agent". You don't have a SmitFraud infection. AVG find this one frequently:

Try this: Control Panel> Java> click on Temporary internet files> Settings> delete the cache.

Scan with AVG again and it should be clean. If you are concerned and this is all you had, run HijackThis and we'll check it.
