So many BSOD's I've lost count

Ok so I recently bought a bunch of parts and what not to build my own rig. Everything went well, installed windows with no problems. The only thing is I'm getting way to many BSOD's.

Let me give you a scenario as an example. Let's say I've got google chrome open, I'm updating guild wars 2 and I've opened up cube world to kill off some time. after about 5 - 10 mins I get a BSOD.

Now I have an i7 with 8GB of RAM, and doing all those tasks mentioned above should be no problem. I have also been monitoring the temperature of my graphics card, which seems normal even though it's quite hot where I am.

Also I'm posting this just after I got a BSOD. So I quickly looked at the error which was the following: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

I've been about a week trying to figure out the problem, but all I've figured out is that it might possibly be my power supply (which is 750 W) but im not quite sure.

So thats basically it, maybe someone might be able to shed some light on this?

Also, I saved a dxdiag thingy, cant remember what it was called. minidump? well anyway one of those *nerd*

Have you installed all the Windows Updates including all the optional ones? Are the any yellow exclamation points in the device manager?

Sorry for the double post, I didn't click on Reply. Every single update is installed. I did a check just before I posted to this forum. I also ran a disk check to see if it was anything to do with the hard drive. But nothing.

After the disk check I tested everything again with the same scenario as I mentioned above, only to find a BSOD.

I should also mention that the computer is completely fine if im not playing a game, and I doubt that the graphics card is shot, because if that were the case I wouldn't be able to type this at all.

Oh and theres no exclamation points in the device manager.

DarkRegulator, FYI, when answering the post just above yours there is no need to quote it.

I would like a little more information than what the DxDiag.txt provides. Could you download BlueScreenView This program is free, and It scans the minidump files created when your system crashes and displays a BSOD, collecting them all in a single list view displaying all kinds of information you can use to debug whatever it is that's crashing your computer in the first place.

Hopefully it will let you know what driver is causing the issue, it might be as simple as updating your graphics driver or even your sound card driver.

Due to this
The file CM10864.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

I would first attempt to update the sound driver first. I am not saying that this will solve your problem but there is a chance that you can eliminate this issue to help clarify what is causing the BSOD.

Ok firstly, thank you very much for the help. Secondly, I think updating the sound drivers has actually solved the problem. I actually recall not updating the drivers from my usb sound card, so I guess I'm really the one to blame.

But anyway, I managed to download the BlueScreenView Software you mentioned, and I used the program to do a google search on the BSOD, and it actually pointed to this forum with the same problem and usb sound card that I have.

But also if you wanna take a look at the what the BSOD program has just in case?

Here's whats on the program:

Yup, that was probably the cause. I actually tested it out after I updated the Sound Blaster driver by opening literally 10 things in the background plus playing a game for about 30 mins and no BSOD.

and I still can't believe it was something as simple as that. I was even considering buying a new PSU because I assumed that was the cause.
