So will support for WinXP Home end this year

All Microsoft consumer products have a 5 year support, and now it's 2006. Will they abandon Home or extend it?

I think Microsoft said they will continue to support XP Home for 2 years after the introduction of Vista.

That is the usual thing 5 years or a few years after the new one has been released of a replacement to the old software.
