Solid state drive data returning

  1. Hello,

    Is there any difference between software which are used for recovering data from HDD or flash memory drives and SSD? For example, can we use of the apps used for HDD to recover data from SSD too?

    I do not see why the HDD programs shouldn't work for SSDs. Maybe @jobeard can weigh in if I am wrong. I would check out this article.

    Of course. The physical media does not matter, as the system interacts with the hardware using something call an abstraction. For files, that's the Filesystem and on Windows that is NTFS.

    The sole caveat on SSD devices, DO NOT DEFRAG - - a} they don't need it and b} it WILL shorten the useful life of the device
