Sony PCG-K23 backlight problem

    I have a Sony PCG-K23 Laptop with a strange backlight problem. The screen backlight goes off as soon as the Windows XP Logo comes up on the screen. I tried a different screen and inverter but still the same problem. I thought the problem was in Windows and booted from a CD that had the Windows XP OS on the CD and got exactly the same problem.

    I am in the process of looking for a BIOS update for the Video chipset. It has an ATI Radeon IGP 345M video built on the mainboard. I will be checking the ATI Website to see if I can find anything. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

    try to change the multiple monitors configuration in display control applet. instead (multiple monitors) on "video chipset" set the Default monitor on "video chipset"
