Sony Vaio cant boot up and stays in a black screen

So I been having some troubles whit a sony vaio model PCG-61611L whit windows 7 when I turn on the computer it does the windows star up screen but where the pasword screen is suposed to show it goes black after a few minutes the windows backround apears whit a huge mouse pointer and after a few minutes a window apears saying
Startup repair is checking for system problems
which it has been on for the last day and nothing hapends

Windows is maybe damaged or there is a problem with the graphics chip. If you are still getting nowhere I suggest you find your Windows 7 install disk and try to repair windows.
