Sound card for audio production

Hey guys,

I'm building a computer for a friend who is a DJ/producer, but I don't really know much about sound cards for music production. Can any producers/aficionados lend me any advice?

He will only be using this at home, and only for producing. He works in Fruity Loops, Sony Acid, and Reason. This won't be hooked up to a mixer or turn tables.
