Sound Distortion

    i guys. whenever i play music recently, atleast once in each song (in any software), i get a distortion sound that lasts about hlaf a second- it is very annoying...what do think it could be?

    Also when this happens, my mouse icon has the CD beside it..like when you just place a cd in the computer...except i havent

    What kind of sound card and motherboard do you have?

    Does this also happen with video files and DVD's?
