Sound not working

I cant get sound to work off my mother board also i installed an audio card all drivers downloaded fine but still no sound

Please give us your system specs (make/model of your computer and/or motherboard, what version windows and Service Pack level? you running 32bit or 64bit windows?)

Then

• Make sure all your devices are connected and powered on
• Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
• Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
• If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post

nothing came up in problem devices.
Here is my system hp compaq presario sr1300nx windows 7 32 bit system 1 gig ram 256 graphics card nvidia 6200 amd sempron 2ghz processor

It seems that model only came out with XP, and is still only supported at HP with XP http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=443734&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

The sound: "Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver" came out in 2005 on HPs site
So its getting on (ie old)

Where did you find the updated drivers including sound, for it?

Ya thanks for the help everything i am seeing is xp for this unit i can't even upgrade to ie 8 cause it's not supported by the windows 7 i am using and i cant do the auto detect without it so i think i will just put windows xp back on i am acctually working on a better computer right now hopefully be completed after christmas i will use windows 7 on it thanks again for the help
