Sound on my computer is not working

Sound is not playing through my computer and I don`t know why!
When I go to devmgmt.msc and check all of the audio devices it says there are no conflicts, then I see if i can update them and no updates are available. I tried plugging my headset from different jacks and restarting my pc, still didn`t work.
How can i fix this? I`m so clueless when it comes to these kind of issues.
(I have creative sb x-fi) Sound only comes from "What U Hear" and the Speakers. The pc shows sound coming from them (those little green bars that go up and down for volume levels) but I cant hear anything (and no my headphones aren't turned down I checked that before doing anything)!

I feel like the solution is something simple but I have no clue what it is.

Can anyone help?

Creative sb x-fi must be addon card (in addition to the sound on the motherboard)

What version of Windows are you using? Using Control Panel->Sound, Audio tab, see if the correct sound card is selected for playback

Thanks for replying but I found the problem I need to reinstall the drivers I just don`t know which ones I have... all it displays for the name is Creative SB X-fi... but on the site its listing like creative sound blaster x-fi _____.


edit: fixed I just opened up my pc and looked at the sound card.
