After being prodded on several occasions by several sources, I decided to take the plunge and install SP2. After doing so, my laptop booted fine, but could not make a wireless LAN connection. I live for WLAN, and I don't think I could take it if I couldn't have it anymore. :dead:

ANy suggestions?:blackeye:

Daft question I know but have you tried uninstalling sp2? Regards Howard

Thats a good idea and worth a try. A fellow TS member had problems with VPN under SP2. It seems that after uninstalling SP2, it started to work again.

Try disabling the Windows Firewall(its enabled by default) then uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your wireless adapter. After that you can configure the firewall to allow your router if you choose to use it. If you use a different firewall then leave the Windows Firewall disabled.
The problem is that for some reason sp2 will break the drivers for some devices, some won't have a problem, reinstalling them usually fixes the problem.

That procedure has worked many times for SP2 with many machines I've worked with.
